Welcome to Gisborne Thunder's Web Site

Welcome to Gisborne Thunder!  We are affiliated with Swimming Victoria and Central Victoria Swimming (District 15), and completely run by members on a non-profit basis for the benefit of club members and the wider community.  The club currently has more than 60 members covering the range of abilities from learn-to-swim through to  State and National representatives.  This club web site has been developed as a resource for our club members, and to provide a brief introduction for people interested in swimming at our club.  The committee hopes you find it useful.  Of course, if you are unsure about any aspects, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
See you at the pool!

The JX Award Winners for the 2017-18 season were presented at our club night.  Well done to all swimmers who achieved these time standards.

The Annual Report for the 2017-18 season is now available.  You can download a copy from this page.

Congratulations to all the award winners at the Presentation Night.  Full results for the season point score competition, including all strokes and grades, are now available on our Club Meets page.   The next club night is our first for the new 2018-19 season - encourage anyone you know who is interested in trying out to come along.

Another season of swimming is drawing to a close with our annual Club Championships held on Saturday 24th March.  An excellent attendance of 48 swimmers fought hard for the ribbons and trophies on offer.  The standard was excellent and it was noted that many swimmers not only set personal best times, but smashed their previous best.  The results are available on our Club Meets page.   The swimmers now have a break until the first club night of the new season on 12th May and our season will officially close with the Presentation night to be held on 28th April.

Have you set any club records this season?  Check out the updated club records on this page.  There are also full season reports available showing every time swum for every club swimmer covering both club nights and SV competitions.  You can also find reports of your best times for both short course and long course meets.  Find those reports here.
