Club Captains 21/22

Each of our new leaders have written a short introduction so you will all know a little bit about them. Please join me in congratulating this group and I am confident that they will all shine in their new roles and lead us to a successful season ahead.

Female Captain – Rose

Hi, I’m Rose and I am very happy to be the

Club captain for the 2021-2022 season. I have been a member of Gisborne Thunder Swimming Club for almost 7 years and swimming competitively for the last 6 years. My favorite strokes are freestyle and backstroke. I have an older sister who also swam for Gisborne Thunder and was Club Captain and I hope I can be as good a leader and role model as she was. She is now a swim instructor, which is something I would also like to do in the future. Outside of swimming I enjoy many different things such as playing computer games, watching movies and crochet. I cant wait to see you all around the pool when we are finally able to get back to swimming together.

Male Captain – Lachlan

Hi I am Lachlan Casey and I am the 2021-22 captain for Gisborne Thunder Swimming Cub. I have been a proud member of Gisborne Thunder since 2014. My favorite swimming memory was

starting competitive swimming because it helped me with the development of my swimming ability. My favorite strokes are back and free. I am looking forward to seeing all club members when we get back to the pool. I have made many friends though the swimming club and if you are new to the club please do not be scared to come up and say hi and ask me any swimming questions you may have.

Go Thunder

Vice Captain – Ella

Hi, I’m Ella and I’m one of your vice-captains for the 21/22 season.

I’ve been competitively swimming for 7 years now, and I’ve been swimming with Thunder for about 3 years. My best stroke has always been backstroke, but my favourite stroke to swim is freestyle.

Other than swimming, I enjoy going on bike rides, spending time with my friends and playing video games. I’m also very passionate about football. I barrack for Geelong and have been a member since 2012.

I can be found around the pool and at most swim meets, so I’ll always be around if you need help or just want to have a chat. I hope we can all get back in the pool soon.

Vice Captain – Charlotte

Hi, my name is Charlotte, and I will be your vice-captain for the 2021/22 season. My interests include surfing, reading, netball, sleeping and swimming. I have been swimming since I was 2 and competing for Gisborne Thunder for 7 years. The club has supported me throughout that time, and I am now ready to give back the support to the swimmers that I received. I love swimming and can’t wait to share my passion and enthusiasm with others at club nights and competitions. See you at the pool!

Vice Captain – Luke

Hi everyone, I’m your new vice captain for 2021, I started squad when I was 11 in an Olympic training pool in Sydney. I’ve been with the club since 2019 and have seen many new faces along the way. My favorite stroke is butterfly and my favorite events are sprints. I look forward to seeing you all at all the events once we can get back in the pool.
